2019 Australian Championships: QLD & NSW dominate opening day
New South Wales and Queensland have dominated the opening day of the 2019 Australian Championships, winning the gold medal in the Men’s and Women’s Triples disciplines respectively.
Fresh off a busy international circuit, BCiB Australian Jackaroos Ben Twist and Chloe Stewart led their trios to ultimate glory on Day 1, the first of five days of competition at Merimbula’s Club Sapphire.
Twist pipped Eric Johannes’ Queensland team by just two shots in the final, while Stewart helped her team to a three-shot victory over Victorian, meaning Queensland would take a gold and silver medal in a successful opening day.
Tuesday will see the start of the Pairs action, before Fours (Wednesday), Singles (Thursday) and Mixed Pairs (Friday) will round out each remaining day of the event.
