2024 Nationals: Day 6 wrap

by Val Febbo on October 13, 2024

As the 2024 Australian Senior Sides Championships heads towards its climax, plenty of states laid their claim for the overall titles that will be awarded on Tuesday afternoon at Club Tweed.

Men’s

South Australia and Queensland remain on top of the pile after sensational days that saw neither state fall on the masterboard.

The South Australians were able to account for the ACT and Western Australia while Queensland defeating the same outfits in the reverse order.

Both states will face each other in round six on Monday afternoon.

New South Wales sit in third at two wins and a loss, ahead of Victoria after defeating their southern neighbours in the final matchup of the day.

The ACT sit fifth on one win with Western Australia and the Northern Territory sharing the ledger.

Tasmania make up the table, yet to register a win.

Women’s

Two-time defending champions in Victoria are holding advantage heading into the third day of competition, continuing an unbeaten run into Monday.

South Australia sit second and would have been undefeated if not for an agonising five-shot defeat at the hands of the previously winless Western Australia.

Queensland join South Australia on three wins with New South Wales and Tasmania a further salutation behind on the table.

The ACT and Western Australia have amassed one victory with the Northern Territory rounding out the ladder.

The 2024 Nationals will run from October 8-25, 2024, with live streaming to take place on Bowls Australia’s YouTube channel.
