2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championships: Day 2 recap

by Val Febbo on December 4, 2024

It was another successful day for both Kira Bourke and Kane Nelson in Hong Kong on day two of the 2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championships.

Despite the duo only playing a combined two matches on the day, they look primed to advance to the knockout stages of all the events.

Nelson’s only singles matchup came against the Cook Islands’ Adoni Samuela Henry Stivyon Wichman-Rairoa in which he was able to overcome a tough start to the opening set to clinch a sensational 8-5 9-3 win.

He would team up with his fellow Queenslander in the mixed pairs to defeat Japan’s Yuta Nagamoto and Kokona Shima 10-6 11-6 to maintain their unbeaten record ahead of their final sectional round against Singapore on Thursday.

Bourke had a bye in the sole women’s singles round for the day.
