The latest iteration of The Nationals kicked off at the picturesque Devonport Country Club with the Australian Under-18 Championships taking centre stage on Tasmania’s north west coast.

Western Australia’s Callum Alberti, Queensland’s Ben Harrison, South Australia’s Charlie Hicks and Victoria’s Bailee Randell follow on one win with the ACT’s Jordan Sturgiss rounding out the table.

The boys fours sees Victoria on top following a pair of wins on the opening day with Tasmania in second place with one win and the bye.

Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia all split their ledger from the two sessions, while the ACT and South Australia are still on the hunt for their maiden wins of the campaign.

One session of girls pairs action was contested throughout the day and Queensland’s Lilly Vardy and Tilah Mason sit atop the ladder with Victoria’s Marlie Malcolm and Addy Ryan and New South Wales’ Zoe Davies and Chanel Chakouch following along after winning their first matchups.

Tasmania’s Jessie Willis and Nakia Daines, South Australia’s Daisy Coe and Anda Panchawat and Western Australia’s Erin Torpey and Sylvia Burgess round out the table.

In the girls triples, New South Wales stand on top of the section after one round with Queensland and South Australia also banking wins.
