2024 Nationals: Day 10 wrap
After yet another sensational day of action at the 2024 Australian Sides Championships, one state has ensured its place on top of both tables as the half way post was crossed at Club Tweed.
Alley Shield
New South Wales held on to their opening day position despite two massive scares in both of their ties throughout the day.
The Blues found themselves down at the half way point against the Northern Territory and Tasmania on the second day and managed to salvage two hard fought victories to maintain an unbeaten record.
Queensland have completed the day in second place after wins over Western Australia and Victoria, holding off their southern opponents by seven shots after a strong comeback came their way.
South Australia also remain strongly positioned at three wins and a loss, recording a pair of salutations on the day.
Victoria sit fourth ahead of Western Australia on two wins apiece, with Tasmania, the ACT and Northern Territory making up the ladder.
Marj Morris Trophy
It is a four-way tie on the top of the ladder for the Marj Morris trophy as a quartet of states sit at three wins and one loss.
The best of them is New South Wales who leapt to the top after a final round victory over Tasmania on top of a solid salutation over the ACT in the morning session.
Queensland sit in second place following a thrilling clash with Victoria in the afternoon.
Leading by a substantial margin, the Queenslanders were forced to defend late as the Victorians gave themselves a strong chance at completing a remarkable comeback.
Victoria are placed third with Western Australia equalling the ledger in fourth place after two stirring wins throughout the day, one of which was against Queensland in the morning session.
Tasmania are in fifth at a pair of wins and losses, with the ACT and South Australia following on a single victory.
