2024 BPL Cup: Day 3 recap
History is on the line at Club Pine Rivers with the final of the 2024 BPL Cup set following the conclusion of the sectional rounds and semifinals.
Funnily, the two combatants for the trophy came from the same section as the defending champions in Ettalong set up a showdown with South Australia’s Berri.
The teams would face off in the decisive pool match as the 2023 champions overcame their Western opponents 11-1 4-2 to seal top spot and set up a date with South Perth in the semifinal.
With both clubs searching to become the first to win the event twice, it was fitting that a tiebreak would decide who progressed to the decider as Ettalong emerged with a 5-2 3-6 1-0 victory to edge one step closer to defending their title.
Cremorne topped section one thanks to an undefeated run through their five games and would face Berri in the second semifinal.
A tiebreak would be needed again as the Tasmanians rebounded in a tight second set, but it would be Berri that took the one-end shootout to book a rematch with Ettalong.

The 2024 BPL Cup Finals will run from November 12-15, 2024, with the final broadcast live on Fox Sports, Kayo and Sky Sports NZ at 1pm AEST on Friday the 15th.
