The women’s side of the draw has been blown wide open starting the day with 128 competitors, with up and coming star Kira Bourke defeating reigning Australian Open and three-time singles champion Natasha Van Eldik.
Bourke took out a 21-15 win in the round of 32, setting up an enthralling round of 16 clash against Right at Home Jackaroo Ellen Ryan.
Earlier in the day, Van Eldik bested national teammate Kristina Krstic before running into Bourke.
2021 singles finalist Jamie-Lee Worsnop also bowed out, as did Jackaroo Chloe Stewart, falling to Carmen Anderson.
Bolivia Millerick continued her good form, getting the better of Genevieve Delves in the round of 32.
The men’s singles day started with a condensed round of 512, before the round of 256 getting under way.
2017 Australian Open singles champion Nathan Pedersen fell short to Craig Goldfinch in the round of 256, with Chris Green getting the better of Goldfinch in the round of 128.

In one of the more anticipated contests of the tournament so far, Ryan Burnett edged out Ryan Bester by one shot, before falling short to Scott Franklin.
Plenty of big names remain in both competitions, with the men now at the round of 64 stage, and women at the round of 16.
