Bowls Australia to welcome BowlsLink App mobile evolution
Bowls Australia is set to transition the name and brand identity of its flagship mobile application from BowlsNow to BowlsLink on 1 October 2025, aligning it with the broader suite of digital products.
The transition will be accompanied by some major feature upgrades based on user feedback, designed to improve mobile user experience and engagement.
The key improvements included in the rebranding of the application are:
Member Login and Sign-up via app to Profile
All new member sign-up functions and member login will be introduced to the app, giving people the ability access and update their own personal information, pay for memberships, view digital membership and certification cards, and directly enter and pay for competitions.
Enter a Competition via mobile
Replicating a simplified version of the desktop competition entry, the BowlsLink App will allow members to easily and effortlessly find, register and pay for competitions with their mobiles.
The find a competition feature also allows members to use filters to narrow down the list of the competitions to their state, region or club, as well as within specific dates and format.
Membership and Certification Digital Cards
Members will now receive a digital membership card, with coaches and officials also able to access their certification cards via their member profile in the app.
These digital cards will have customised styling based on the primary colours of clubs and defined colours of each certification.
The cards will display all key information, including expiry dates, certification types, STA affiliation and history of previous memberships and certifications.
Change to the Payment gateway
The BowlsLink App will also change the payment gateway, allowing for clubs to receive funds within a few business days, but configurable to the club’s needs.
Associations will need to follow a sign-up process, including those already using payments.
Tailored newsfeeds, competitions and style and branding for members
The improved BowlsLink App will now take into account a members affiliated State, displaying their affiliated news feeds and media content, upcoming competitions and State colours, giving them a representation of the State and clubs.
NOTE: To ensure your club logo is displayed in the app, the logo will need to be available in the club’s BowlsLink profile
This rebrand and the subsequent upgrades will support an integrated digital ecosystem, enhance brand consistency and expand the functionality of the app.
Everything bowls related will now be linked by the one app.
If you are a registered member of a bowls club, you will already have a BowlsLink account and login, and won’t be required to sign up to the app.
Bowls Australia BowlsLink staff, STA staff and your club manager or secretary can assist if people have trouble logging in.
The new BowlsLink App will be released on October 1 2025.
To download the BowlsLink App, search for ‘BowlsLink’ in the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android devices.
