Bowls receives Play Well Participation Grant

by Bowls Australia on May 21, 2024

Bowls Australia (BA) has today welcomed the announcement it was successful for a Play Well Participation Grant from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).

The Play Well funding will be used for the continued development of BA’s revamped Club Support Program, focusing on club development and maximising community venue usage and participation through welcoming and inclusive environments.

BA’s General Manager – Participation and Programs Chris Evans said he was appreciative of the ASC’s investment.

“On behalf of Bowls Australia and the entire participation team, I’d like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to the Australian Sports Commission for their considerable and generous funding, to assist us to continue our plans for the ongoing evolution and enhancement of our new-look Club Support Program.”

The grants are one of the first initiatives to be delivered from Play Well – Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy, which aims to ensure everyone has a place in sport. The strategy is designed to change the way participation in sport is connected, delivered and supported across Australian communities.
