BPL21: Day 4 recap

by Val Febbo on February 20, 2025

The Geelong Jets have shattered records after another pulsating day of action at BPL21 in Moama, finishing the evening four games clear atop the table.

Matthew Flapper’s team of Jamie-Lee Worsnop, Aaron Wilson and Paul Foster MBE broke the Sydney Lions’ previous record of 16 wins in the preliminary rounds after notching up their 17th of the campaign to close out the night session and ensure a place in the qualifying final.

The Jets sit a whopping four games clear of the Melbourne Pulse, who enjoyed a magnificent outing on the Murray with an undefeated day to extend their winning streak to seven matches as they look to win a second straight tournament in Moama.

In third are the Tweed Ospreys on 12 wins, ahead of the Adelaide Pioneers on net sets, with the Sydney Lions and Gold Coast Hawks a further win back in fifth and sixth respectively.

The Melbourne eXtreme sit at a square ledger and needing to win both matches on Friday to keep themselves in contention for the finals.

In eighth are the Sydney Saints who find themselves out of the finals race, which is the same for the Moreton Bay Pirates and the Perth Suns who sit on seven wins.

Rounding out the table are the Tasmania Tridents and Moama Steamers.

BPL21 runs from February 17-21, 2025, at the Moama Bowling Club with live streaming on Bowls Australia’s YouTube channel, as well as live broadcasts from Tuesday to Friday from 4pm until 10pm AEDT on Fox, Kayo and Sky Sports NZ.
