Commonwealth Games Draw announced
The Australian Jackaroos have learned who their initial opponents will be at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham commencing in just over a fortnight.
The team is already in England for a staging camp ahead of the competition, and will face a cumulative 17 countries across all open and para disciplines throughout the sectional rounds.
British Minister for Sport Nigel Huddleston conducted the draw at Royal Leamington Spa late last week and is excited at the quality of the field for the blue-ribbon tournament for bowlers across the Commonwealth.
“Lawn bowls will be one of the hottest tickets for British fans at Birmingham 2022 with home nation teams drawn together across the medal events,” Huddleston said.
“Victoria Park is a stunning setting for the lawn bowls and Para lawn bowls and it’s great to see how investment from the Commonwealth Games will leave a real legacy for this venue and the local community.”
