Its time for the world to see our great sport on the Olympic stage and no place better, than the home of Bowls greatest showcase event, The Australian Open, in Brisbane for the 2032 Olympic Games.
Two Teams. 32 Clubs. One ultimate dream.
In conjunction with the Bowls for Brisbane 2032 campaign, World Bowls, Bowls Australia, Bowls New South Wales and Bowls Queensland are carrying out the worlds farthest game of lawn bowls. Calling to action the community of local and national players, we will drive a concerted push for the sport’s inclusion, aiming to unite clubs, players, and fans in a movement that celebrates both tradition and global ambition.
Rolling out from Balmain Bowls Club in the heart of Sydney on April 29th, hosted by 32 historic clubs throughout NSW and Queensland throughout two sensational weeks of bowls, sharing stories and support along the way before finishing at Windsor Bowls Club on May 14th.
Playing one-bowl Triples with two-sets of seven ends (with a tie-breaker if needed), it will be Australia taking on the Rest of the World, comprising of international and local competitors with diverse backgrounds.
The relay celebrates the extensive bowls community that is highlighted by its inclusivity and participation in addition to showcasing accessibility for all ages, often crossing generations of bowlers, abilities, cultures and backgrounds.
