National Coaching Advisory Group and Women in Bowls Working Party

At the recent scheduled Bowls Australia (BA) Board meeting in August, it was agreed to re-establish the National Coaching Advisory Group (NOAG) and to establish a Women in Bowls Working Party.

The Women in Bowls Working Party has been formed in response to the declining participation rates of women, to identify ways to retain existing members and to encourage more women into the sport.

Outlined below are details of the application process and the TOR for both groups.

Application Process

BA is seeking expressions of interest for members to serve on the National Coaching Advisory Group (NOAG) and the Women in Bowls Working Party.

Position Overview

As a member of these groups, you will play a key role in providing advice and guidance to the BA Board in all aspects of coaching and Women in the Sport within Australia and internationally.

The appointment term for these voluntary positions is approximately two years, with a staggered rotation.

Commitment

These groups will meet on no more than two occasions face to face. Face to face meetings usually involves an overnight stay. Additional meetings, should they be required, are held via teleconference.

Any costs associated with travel to and from meetings are organised and paid for by BA. There is no remuneration for these positions.

BA is the national sporting organisation responsible for the leadership, development and management of lawn bowls in Australia. Our Mission is to grow the sport of bowls while demonstrating our Core Values.

BA is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary board that provides the strategic direction for the sport and the strategies that are implemented by the staff at the national office. BA’s members are the nine state and territory bowls associations. There are over 1,800 clubs and over 633,000 bowls participants nationwide.

BA is affiliated with World Bowls and Commonwealth Games Australia where Bowls is a core sport for the Commonwealth Games, held every four years.
