NSW bowls clubs share in $312k grants
NSW bowls clubs have shared in over $312,000 worth of funding this financial year through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program announced recently.
Bowls Australia’s five NSW-based Regional Bowls Managers were instrumental in assisting 49 clubs secure funding in the latest round of the Grant Program, which provides up to $15,000 for a sports facility to benefit the local community.
Bowls clubs featured prominently in the announcement, with nearly 6% of the total funded projects, and ~40% more funding received than in 2021 ($219k to $312k).
Of the 49 successful bowls applicants, 25 were awarded $5,000 or more funding and 10 were granted $10,000 or more – eight of whom received the maximum $15,000 allocation – with the average amount among all bowls clubs being $6,380.
Successful submissions varied in scale from the purchase of new bowls, scoreboards and shades to larger projects including locker rooms, irrigation and green safety upgrades.
Bowls Australia congratulates the 49 successful bowls applicants listed and commends the NSW RBMs for their involvement and assistance.
