2026 Nationals: Day 2 wrap

by Connor Munnings on October 3, 2026

The 2026 Nationals continued at North Beach Bowling Club, with the women’s and men’s Australian Champion of Champions titles remaining up for grabs.

In the women’s draw, Tasmania’s Amity Bickley was sublime to remain undefeated after four games following victories against Western Australia’s Linda Warburton 21-20, Australian Capital Territory’s Nicole Mengel 21-14 and Victoria’s Brooke Edwards 21-19.

South Australia’s Cathryn Greenslade continued her good form with wins over Mengel, Warburton and New South Wales young gun Chanel Chakouch to sit in outright second with three wins out of four.

The middle of the table sees a logjam, with Queensland’s Julia Brownie, Edwards, Chakouch and Warburton all on two wins.

Jay Bye-Norris sits on top of the table in the men’s draw, but there is a large chasing pack on his tail.

The New South Welshman overcame his loss on the first day to defeat Northern Territory’s Mitchell Jackson, Queensland’s Ben Harrison and South Australia’s Gary Thompson.

Victoria’s Aaron Betts and Western Australia’s Daniel Penman also have three wins, while Harrison and Tasmania’s Tony Simpson recorded two each.

Australian Capital Territory’s Glenn Morton and Thompson also saluted during the day.
